What's the difference between re-roofing and a roof replacement?
Re-roofing typically means installing a new layer of shingles over the existing one (where code allows). A full replacement involves tearing off the old roof down to the deck first. We'll tell you which is appropriate for your roof — a second layer isn't always allowed or advisable.
How long does a re-roofing project take?
Most Peninsula homes can be re-roofed in 2–5 days. We protect your property daily, sweep for nails, and keep the job site clean throughout.
How do I know when it's time to re-roof?
Signs include curling or buckling shingles, granules collecting in gutters, daylight visible in the attic, repeated leaks, or a roof that's 20–30 years old. If you're unsure, call us for a free inspection.
Can you re-roof over existing shingles?
In some cases yes — California code allows up to two layers of composition shingles. But if the deck is damaged, if you already have two layers, or if you're switching materials, a full tear-off is required. We'll assess and advise.
